This guide was made specifically for Leica programs and microscopes. The microscope we used to create this how-to guide is the Leica M205 C, consisting of z-stacking capabilities and a motorized column for effortless imaging.

Double Armed Gooseneck

Gooseneck Lights allow users to adjust the contrast and shading on a specimen.

The goosenecks can be moved and adjusted to different angles around the specimen. A steep angle will lead to low contrast and more uniform illumination, while a flatter position will produce stronger shading and contrast.

The panel on the left side of the scope allows users to increase and decrease the intensity of the lights.

Users can also choose to illuminate one light or the other. Using the ‘empty circles’ button, they can reset to having both lights illuminated.
