This guide was made specifically for Leica programs and microscopes. The microscope we used to create this how-to guide is the Leica M205 C, consisting of z-stacking capabilities and a motorized column for effortless imaging.
Handwheel for Motorized Focus
This tool can be used to focus on an object manually. Rotating the red wheel clockwise focuses upwards, and rotating it counterclockwise focuses downwards.
The black switch on top of the handwheel allows users to toggle between coarse, fine, and very fine focus.
The red switch allows users to store or cancel up to five focus positions and scroll through the stored positions.
For very minute focus adjustments, users may also use the arrows on the left corner of the screen on the Leica LAS X software (see Section 2).
