This guide was made specifically for Leica programs and microscopes. The microscope we used to create this how-to guide is the Leica M205 C, consisting of z-stacking capabilities and a motorized column for effortless imaging.
Trinocular Ergotube
The Trinocular Ergotube can be adjusted to adapt to different user’s preferences and comfort.
The eyepieces can be moved in and out based on how wide or narrow the user’s eyes are set. They can also be moved up or down based on the user’s preferred height.
Leica offers dioptric correction with eyepieces for users who wear glasses. This allows the microscope to be used without glasses for those with vision problems.
The silver line represents the mid position at “0” diopter settings and should be set there unless the user wants to remove their glasses to view specimens.
From Viewing to Z-stacking
There is a silver knob located on the left side of the microscope, next to the Trinocular Ergotube. To view specimens through the eyepieces, you will need to push it in. This sends the light to the eyepieces.
When switching from viewing to photography/z-stacking, you will need to loosen the black knob on the right side of the microscope. Once it is loosened, you can slide the body of the microscope to the left. Re-tighten the black knob when you are done.
